Lute FP I held off buying this because their 2022 opus Mild Conquest really is the pinnacle of their work, and I didn’t see myself going backwards from there often. But after listening to ‘Conquest so often, I started wanting more, and here there is more.

Pulling everything great from 70s hard progressive rock, these guys create something new and classic at the same time. Think early Gabriel, ‘Scorps, Halford- the great songwriters of the period and style, updated a bit.

The Harvest 06:35
I proceed with the open pouring seeds while I'm walking let me drive you to the countryside spend the night with me filled my life like a garden with flowers your blackened tears dare you to look at me with those eyes and go chase after thee can I get you out of my head? your figure's sight depriving can you shoot this colourful bird? sleep has long forsaken me yearning for the harvest time Gaia's high on empathy sinking in the deepest mine shut the door behind me exploding sun, oh let me glow exploding sun, oh let me glow exploding sun, oh let me glow exploding sun, oh let me glow

Ever Lasting 03:43
I see you all as you come in trance I'll feel your beat if you give me a chance you're in the wrong time, in the wrong age holding hands or scanning x-rays with the right kind of eyes with the right kind of taste with the right kind of love with the right kind I've been changing ships, I've been changing trains from the highest tops to the calmest bays using all forms to communicate holding hands or scanning x-rays with the right kind of eyes with the right kind of taste with the right kind of love with the right kind of hate with the right kind of eyes with the right kind of taste with the right kind of try you can have a taste

In the reefs I left your heart girl In the reefs I felt you so saw you dancing by the moonlight glowing back and the moon shines on the trail end by desert fires I saw places from a season when I got you hypnotised as I travelled from the mountains took me years to find the shores and discover the foundations 'for I knock up on your doors I saw people chased like outlaws I saw tearful children's eyes all they asked for was a shelter from the cruelty of times in the days after the rampage she took my hand and said "let's hide" to a city in the ocean bed thriving deep below the tide I remember being born there but my memories all dry (she) put a gun under my pillow for the king that had to die in the reefs where waves are breaking in those reefs you crushed me whole when I found my way and showed up in the lands that you control now these highway patrol men see me riding up to north once again I play the drifter
4.
time to turn on the town lights, babe in the night of your eyes skin as white as the milky way hope you had just one more day, to stay longing times in the lands of you all my pains put aside magnetised, craving more and more for the secrets you hide while twilight still covers us gonna get some more wine don't you see girl I fall for you? don't you see that you're mine? longing times in the lands of you all my pains put aside magnetised, craving more and more for the secrets you hide
5.
The Drought 04:38
quench my thirst young woman this drought's been here too long soothing, blatant bravery unwillingly prolonged this bond is strong the fears you spawned the crust reforms quench my thirst young woman and lead me to the place where sun engilds the mountains and water flows through plains this bond is strong the fears you spawned the crust reforms a circle

first she made monsters leave the cave like the waters of a tidal wave made 'em wanna take a last breath even speed limit drinks to death since the sunset of golden days I invited her to my maze she drove me through hell and from the kingdom of noise to the celebration of ephemeral joys she's the one from the sun to the moon glow she's the one from the sun to the moon glow she's the one from the sun to the moon glow she's the one from the sun to the moon glow she's the one from the sun to the moon glow she's the one from the sun to the moon glow she's the one from the sun to the moon glow she's the one from the sun to the moon glow

by the abandoned huts, up on a barren shore black grains and limestone meet, still burning underneath bearing a rizzared face, a horde of weary men humming a hopeless prayer for rain to come again there's a favonian scent, remnant of northern winds horizon drops a veil upon the highest cliff where from a cave I stand and watch the changing forms and as the sunset comes, I witness perfect storms I remain to be unseen I remain to be unseen come and rise from the sea and fall come rise from the sea and fall come rise from the sea and fall come rise from the sea and fall come rise from the sea and fall come rise from the sea and fall come rise from the sea and fall come rise from the sea and fall
8.
lazing in the sun rising haze take a look above the river gimme one and drive the flame off your heart and show me miracles in the ruffle time I saw (you) throwing novels in the raindrops come inside and teach me how to make a city in the bedroom
9.
Black Sand 06:10
in the black sand, I tried to drain you ooh when you go, I feel the heavy hours hooks rip the bed, while I want you digging up bones of loves long left behind in the black sand, I tried to hear you but you mislead me through the void of time in the black sand, tried to burn you stones melt and mud exploded in the sky

about

Two years after their first single release—‘Feed/Green Fire’—The Steams have returned with their first LP, ‘Wild Ferment.’

The title ‘Wild Ferment’ speaks not only to the album’s content, but also to the evolution of the band since their first release. ‘Wild Ferment’ is composed of impressionistic and evocative pieces, meandering between sweet melodies, heavy riffs, and dynamic drum beats. Eastern influences blend with the sound of Californian psychedelia to create a kaleidoscopic experience.

Incorporating collaborations with guest musicians playing traditional Greek instruments—the Cretan lyra, the laouto, and tsabouna (the Greek bagpipe) adds to the albums novelty and takes listeners on a immersive journey beyond the boundaries of the ‘psych rock’ genre.
