Lute FP This is shockingly good. It is immediately accessible, but not only holds up throughout, it takes little twists and turns that show amazing attention to sounds and dynamics.

The vocals make me think of mid-range Halford in his 70s prime, and the music is a mash of modern and classic heavy progressive rock of the not-noodly kind. I hear bits of Genesis, Peter Gabriel, early ‘Priest, early Scorpions, Yes, and lots of other stuff. This is good.

come to the land of the stabbed hills see the beds of thirsty rivers those who never meet the sea not everything that’s gold, shimmers look how they planted the white tall steel with pointy wings and electric noises stained by the blood of birds since the trees have lost their voices surpass your weeping song embalming hands of you demented the fireflies that feed your soul of all the regions now forgotten

ladies in the north with your kissing eyes loving homes are your fiery arms gazing through the buzz of the delta flies whispering to you of my present charms ladies in the north with your worn-out leathers burning harpy feathers, growing plants out of eggs blessed to be your grounds and your crops forever celebrating the seasons, dancing wild wild legs every time i’m closing, you treat me right with your herbal infusions and a piece of tart singing in return of your mighty legends ‘bout them wishing wells, you so bravely guard only for this time hear my news are darker ‘bout the fellow masters and their hollow plans wanna poke the hills, wanna poke the mountains for the black blood to flow through your virgin lands

The Union 04:09
you see the miners sunken, [for] so long down endless pits obediently confounded, a hollow case of grit save for publication, my evening bloody scenes ascending new dimensions, my axe has promised me since their sun only rises on Sundays desecrating sullied loading zones for the bones of those fallen in galleries a lament by them voiceless frogs a strike repletes the shadowed for once they shall decree ahead a clannish quorum abed the enshrining sea

when you spelled my name at the basement halls of an old cafe by the end of May it was not too hot but I could see you glow like a cigarette when i spelled your name where the beatniks pray men are fighting now as you speak of love and you ask me how then you head out west to the seven isles there’s conquest in your Algerian eyes and they’re moving in through your northern coasts while I’m crumbling down by the dessert cross and your ships now burn and their flags are high pray for sandstorms now as the wind blows high and your ships now burn and their flags are high pray for sandstorms now as the wind blows high

The Horror 05:53
all the sins that blew you away gems on your crown everything that comes in your way follow you down saw your pilgrims running low same old design aiming for the finishing blow grafting my vine everybody came to your speech sweet to be heard you read me like the book on the beach same as I dreamt thrilling! I’d expect the same bounded to disregard opening your arms and pray a relieving triangle to rest your sadness old soul, you remember? drifting the river upstream, dirty with grime I could not see anymore, I had no time watching for sunken stones, had to discern only a whirl of black limbs, wish to return I saw vague forms of men, double, leaping, gliding like a flock of excited magpies, flying like a claim of distant kinship, affirmed by you, ashore even conquerors should pay the price of futile fame, tomorrow we’re gone mountains or waves, align and dissever prisming the rays, the light of the seven took a deep breath, then stopped to listen ivory marks the hell of your heaven
